Dr. Sahba Jalali
Dr. Sahba Jalali, owner and clinical director of Advanced Vision, prides
himself on offering state-of-the-art vision care and the latest vision correction
options with a personal touch. He has been in private optometric practice
since 1997, ensuring thousands of his patients experience excellent vision
and eye health as he focuses on their Lifetime Vision Care.
Raised in Columbia, Dr. Jalali attended Fairview Elementary, Jefferson
Junior High and graduated from Highman High School. He earned his bachelor
of science degree in Biochemistry from the University of Missouri-Columbia,
and his Doctor of Optometry from University of Missouri-St. Louis. He interned
at Washinton University and Barnes Hospital in St. Louis. Dr. Jalali has
extensive post-graduate training and experience in the areas of Laser vision
correction, orthokeratology, and often takes a holistic approach exploring
the role of nutrition and lifestyle in eye disease prevention.
Dr. Jalali has lectured at the American Academy of Optometry and numerous
State and local optometric societies. In 2002, Dr. Jalali left his six year
practice in Boise, Idaho, to open his own private practice in his hometown
of Columbia, Missouri. He brings with him cutting-edge technology in the
area of vision improvement, contact lenses, prevention of eye disease and
comprehensive vision care.
Dr. Jalali has been honored by Stephens College, receiving the Martin Luther
King, Jr. Award for Outstanding Service for his work with low-income families.
He is also a busiess leader and member of the Chamber of Commerce, the American
Optometric Assocation, Missouri Optometric Association, Columbia Multisport
Club, and attends every possible Mizzou football game to cheer on the Tigers!
Sandy David, Clinical Assistant
Sandy
has been an expert of patient care for more than 14 years. Sandy's warm
approach and calm demeanor brings smiles out of even the most apprehensive
5 year old! She will start your exam by collecting a wide-range of data
and information that will help Dr. Jalali best assess your vision and eye
health needs.
Craig Jones, Certified Optician
Craig
brings 16 years of experience to the Frame & Lens Gallary at Advanced
Vision. Not only is Craig an expert at guiding you in determining your eyewear
needs, he also has an artistic ability when it comes to helping you select
a frame that will suit you best. Craig has volunteered his time on trips
to Guatemala where he helped provide vision assessments and eyewear to those
in need.
